| 'Keep off the grass' this sign said, but the mud didn't seem to dampen any spirits at this years Glastonbury Festival. This was our second performance at Glastonbury and was a weekend that will be hard to forget. After three days rehearsals in Glasgow, this was our first performance with the brass section. The reaction was fantastic and it was great fun to have that extra bit of punch. We will be using the Wayward Boys at most bigger gigs from now on, with the magnificent Hebridian Celtic Festival in Lewis up next. |

Glastonbury was full of characters as usual, and the mud brought the funny side out of people who are perfectly normal when not at Mudfest. The weather was great on Saturday and Sunday, and as long as you had wellies you could have a lot of fun wading about while getting a tan most places above the knee, or all places if you were the bare naked lady who graced the Avalon stage and artists area on Saturday night. Some people just had to be over friendly with the mud though, as this couple of maniacs demonstrated. |
| This guy knows how to party. Even at daybreak, after partying all night, he can't pull himself away from the comfort of his floating armchair. Full marks to all who used the mud for extra fun rather than trying to keep out of it. |

Pictured here are Innes (hat), Adam (hair) and Graham our new keyboard player (spectasunglassicals). With Leighton leaving to concentrate on his own band 'Injuns', we were very lucky to find Graham Stafford, a top class musician from Newcastle who moved to Skye at the end of last year. We are confident he will be a excellent asset to the band. This picture was taken as we cheered on fellow Skyeman, Mylo, at the dance tent. |
| With Toms wife Sofie giving birth to their second child Miriam just a couple of days before Glastonbury, Seamus was again on guitar duty for this one. Seamus' extensive knowledge of the seedy and bizarre always provides us with an illuminating time. Seen here exposing his Skye indie sensation 'Stereoglo' t-shirt, he is about to make a pass at a nun at the world famous pussy parlor. He was put off however, when he noticed a striking resemblance to Adam, definitely a low resolution fox that one. |

By this stage in the morning, we were some of the few people still exploring in the mud. This is Seamus, Graham, Adam and a friend of Adams known to us only as MacKenzie. There was little denying that we had drunk quite a lot by this stage and it was only a matter of time before some muddy disaster was to strike. |
| By seven o' clock in the morning there was a definite stagger from the band. The mud underfoot was sticky and it was an effort squelching through it. The inevitable happened when Peters wellie boot stuck in the mud and he took a header into the quagmire, kilt and all. He countered Seamus' laughter and delight with the retort, " better dirty out than in". Sunday was a day of relaxing and enjoying the end of the festival. Glastonbury is always a festival to remember and we hope we can play a third time soon. |
