Born and brought up near Dunvegan in Skye, Peter has played the pipes since the age of nine. Before becoming a founder member of the Peatbogs, Peter played in traditional based local bands and was a member of the Skye pipe band for twelve years. The pipes and whistle have since taken him world wide, performing with the Peatbogs as well as other bands.
Having written his first tune at the age of twelve, Peter has now composed in the region of three hundred tunes and is the main writer in the band. He spends his time off from the Peatbogs at home in Skye where he also plays with Bramax, a trad/comedy trio with Farquhar MacDonald and Peatbogs dep guitarist Seamus MacLennan. Peter can be found most Thursday nights, when he is at home, playing in the local session in Dunvegan Hotel.. |
